While living in Hawaii, Islanders’ founder noticed a cool line of tshirts popular in the Hawaiian Islands. So when he opened Islanders in 1980, He contacted the tshirt company. One of the designs they suggested included pigs and Islanders listened (even though they were very skeptical of pigs on the beaches of Florida).
